Yay and welcome! First of all, thank EVERYONE for joining the comm! We've been tickled pink by the turnout, and we hope that everyone will have an awesome time writing and reading!

In the interest of tiding us over until the bingo cards are given out on the 1st, why don't we have a good, old-fashioned introduction post! Feel free to mix and mingle, introduce yourself and your writing, talk about the weather, ask questions, or anything else that comes to mind! :D

Hi, I'm Mare.

Most of my writing has been done in a fanfic way (through actual fic and through RP writing) and, when I dropped from my RPG about two years ago, I basically stopped writing. I've attempted NaNoWriMo with original storylines/characters for about four or five years in a row and haven't gotten anywhere at all. Not even once.

So, I'm kind of hoping this will sort of push me to create characters or even just situations to write about so that maybe I can get back into writing and loving it the way I used to.

I know. :3 It's just the... you know, writing shit. I think I might just have to start logging back onto AIM more regularly when this starts up. I hardly ever do anymore. >>

It's cos most of my internet time is trying to catch up on lj/dw and email. I actually spend more time watching tv or with Brian than I used to. Which.. is good, obviously. But gives me less internet time. XD

Hehe. I know what you mean. XD I have a feeling that my LJ time is going to get significantly pushed down when I get into the groove of writing again.

Bingo challenges lend themselves incredibly well to world-building, I find. I might do a personal challenge, writing something small and worldbuildy for one of my less-developed 'verses in one of the larger bingo patterns or something, to do just this kind of exploratory research. :)

I'm in the same boat. I used to write all the time and then one day I just…stopped. And now it's become a huge source of anxiety and self-doubt, and I can't write anything AT ALL. I'm hoping this will be fun and help me write for enjoyment again, and stop taking it all so seriously.

It doesn't help that I'm really based in fanfic and using other people's worlds and characters for my own fun and entertainment. I always have this overwhelming feeling of "UR DOIN' IT RONG" when trying to create my own characters/'verses.

D: Which, I think, is a case of taking myself too seriously lol
